Ratings & Policies

Spotlight Theatres, in accordance with MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) guidelines, strictly enforces the movie ratings system. Specifically, those under the age of 17 will not be allowed to view R rated films without an accompanying parent or adult guardian (at least 21 years old). A summary of the ratings system is included here and specific ratings accompany each movie. For more details on ratings go to: www.filmratings.com or www.mpaa.org

Rated R Policy
  • You must be 17 years old or older to purchase a ticket for an R rated film
  • You must be 21 years old or older to purchase tickets for others
  • Anyone under 17 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian 21 years old or older throughout the entire movie
  • Photo ID required

Ushers or door checkers are authorized to verify IDs before entrance to R rated films. Internet or kiosk ticket purchases for R rated films may be checked at the theater; please be prepared with photo ID as R rated film policies apply to internet/kiosk purchases as well. Management reserves the right to refuse entry for those without proof of age for accompanying R rated tickets.
