But behind the spotlight, Bart's past threatens the family he's built, especially the fragile bond with his son, Sam. When hopeful newcomer Tim Timmons joins the band for their biggest tour yet, he unknowingly brings a renewed gratitude to Bart's life through their unlikely friendship. After a gentle alien becomes stranded on Earth, the being is discovered and befriended by a young boy named Elliott. Soon, however, E.T. falls ill, resulting in government intervention and a dire situation for both Elliott and the alien.
