CORDELE— Spotlight Theatres is having a birthday party to celebrate its first year in business, and everyone is invited.

Birthday cake and music will be provided for guests as no kind of celebration would be complete without cake and entertainment.

Festivities are scheduled to begin on Saturday, June 30 around 12 p.m. and continue until 1 p.m. in the parking lot at Cordele Square.

L-Bo’s is hosting and providing free barbecue sandwich samples along with Cokes to quench everyone’s thirst.

“Icee the Bear” also will make a guest appearance for and “cool” movie stuff giveaways are planned.

Theatre co-owner Lori Brian said, “This is our family’s way of giving back to the community— our thank you for supporting our family and the theatre’s first year.”

She added, “Cordele wanted its own movie theatre again and as long as the schools, churches, businesses and citizens of Cordele continue to support the theatre, we will be able to continue to keep the theatre open and offer all of Cordele first run movies in a safe and comfortable family atmosphere for many years to come.”

Brian added, “We welcome school and recreation center field trips here as well as family reunions, birthday parties and other group events along with those just bringing their own families to the movies regularly.

“It’s our birthday, but we couldn’t have made it without the support of the community. This is simply our own way of saying ‘hooray!’ We made it! And, thank you, Cordele!’”
